Azoospermia is a condition where men’s semen has no sperm. Up to 20 percent of cases of infertility are due to azoospermia. There are three types of azoospermia:
Causes of azoospermia could be age, being overweight, or some kind of genetic factors. Azoospermia is usually diagnosed during semen analysis when there is no sperm present in semen. One should give multiple samples to confirm azoospermia. Azoospermia might or might not be permanent, Some conditions like flu or some other disease temporarily pause sperm count production which can be reversed. While some men don’t produce sperm, others have some form of obstruction that blocks the release of sperm. Your doctor might need your history to help you to treat azoospermia, He might need information from you like, past history of infections, history of injury in the testicular area, any medical condition in past or present, recent fevers, family history of birth defects, etc, in some cases the doctor might retrieve sperm from testicles using surgical procedure if the patient is willing to choose ICSI.
Azoospermia can be prevented by avoiding any injury to the testicular area or avoiding heat exposures like hot baths etc. While most types of azoospermia can be treated but it is hard to treat low sperm count than Azoospermia and require more medicines (usually anti-oxidants), and more time to recover from diseases like flu, etc.

- Fruit Juices & Salads
- Whole Grain & Cereals etc
- Coenzyme Q10, Found in sunflower oil, nuts & seeds, etc.
- Fenugreek , Maca & Ginseng Seeds.
Treatment of Azoospermia in Ayurveda could take a few months. In Some cases, the sperm count increase is so sharp that one can achieve natural pregnancy, but in some cases, pregnancy can be achieved with help of IVF ( in cases where sperm count increases from 0 to less than a million).
